Clinical Standards & Patient Safety

Safety is not an added extra; it is central to every treatment we provide.

At The Barefaced Edit, every treatment is approached with care, clinical judgement and respect for your individual needs. From your initial assessment through to treatment and aftercare, your safety and wellbeing guide every decision we make.

1. Experienced Clinical Care

The Barefaced Edit was founded by a Registered Midwife and Specialist Midwife Sonographer with more than 25 years’ experience in healthcare.

This clinical background brings a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, patient assessment and safe practice. Every treatment is carefully planned around your individual anatomy, facial movement, medical history and desired outcome.

2. Prepared for Complications

All injectable treatments carry potential risks, even when performed carefully by a trained healthcare professional.

We maintain appropriate emergency equipment, medicines and written protocols for the treatments we provide. We are trained to recognise and respond to adverse reactions and complications, with clear arrangements for escalation and further medical support where required.

3. Carefully Sourced Products

We never compromise on the quality or traceability of the products used in our clinic.

Medicines and injectable products are obtained through reputable, regulated UK suppliers and pharmacies where applicable. Products are stored, handled and documented in accordance with their specific requirements, with batch numbers and expiry details recorded as part of your treatment record.

4. Infection Prevention and Hygiene

Strict infection-prevention procedures are followed for every treatment.

This includes careful hand hygiene, preparation of the treatment area, aseptic non-touch technique where appropriate, safe sharps management and the use of sterile, single-use consumables. Treatment areas and reusable equipment are cleaned between clients in accordance with our clinical protocols.

5. Honest, Ethical Treatment

Your wellbeing matters more than making a sale.

Every appointment includes an assessment of your medical suitability, expectations and reasons for considering treatment. We will explain the potential benefits, limitations and risks honestly and will advise against treatment where it is unlikely to be appropriate, beneficial or consistent with a subtle, natural-looking result.

There is never any pressure to proceed, and you will be supported in making an informed decision that feels right for you.
